Bronx, NY - Lehman College athletic department has named former Lightning star Divina Arroyo as its new men's volleyball coach.

Arroyo, a former member of the women's squad from 1997-2001, was the team captain all four years, and was pivotal in Lehman's first appearance in the 2001 CUNY championship game.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of leading the Lehman men's volleyball program," said Arroyo. "The opportunity to coach at the collegiate level, especially at my alma mater is something that I take great pride in."

Dr. Martin L. Zwiren, Director of Athletics, said "the addition of Arroyo as our men's volleyball coach opens a leadership position for a woman in our athletic program. Arroyo's knowledge of the game and her ability to teach fundamentals and recruit players will build on what has been a very successful and popular varsity sport."

Anderson Camacho, a member of the 2002 squad which advanced to the Molten National Final Four will be retained as an assistant coach to Arroyo.

Arroyo inherits a team which finished 7-16 last season and failed to qualify for the CUNY tournament for the first time in the program's history.
